Just Driving By
NOW...
I look at cars driving past my house,
where are the people going to?
Are some driving away from a clinging spouse,
or are they just passing through?
I wonder to what music they are listening,
and does it give them a peaceful mood,
because I love music and I like to sing -
music's what makes me feel good.
LATER...
We drive past a couple who looks ready to fight.
I see the man turning his head angry away.
And the wife carries on; she's probably right.
Sadly, I think, she has spoilt the day.
An elderly couple drives slowly by,
and the woman stares out of the window.
Maybe she's going to give her husband another try,
and this time, they'll take it slow.
Two kids are waving at me,
I wave back and start to smile.
I don't know what made me see,
but I was so shocked, I couldn't react for a while.
The boy is busy pulling a face
at me, and the father speeds past our car.
I sympathized the boy, and thought about the human race,
and how I've escaped such nastiness so far...
Real picture of life, woven so nicely.. Sometimes methink that, which song there are listening to.. Good poem! !
Creatively narrated story in this poem..i like 'Now' and 'Later' approach..the story quite touching, sighing a lil hahahaha i wonder if all days what we will see soon, hopw we learn something from all lessons...you create good picture of a scene in reality, about life..i like the story.. :) Unwritten Soul

Hey! Hey! Oh Jacqueline Your narration is racy dear why don't try writing script to Hollywood movies..... Um I enjoyed every line of the poem just like brick by brick line after ever poetic line drives to the theme - 'Maybe she's going to give her husband another try, and this time, they'll take it slow. Two kids are waving at me, ' Ground breaking style! Hey I love it..... Hey Do You to have 2 kinds! Hello i also two kids - ha! ha! ha! :) :) :) Just for fun come on laugh..... But hope you understood..........
