Why can't it be just like it was?
Christmas was just complete,
Wrapping presents just for you,
Placed next to your comfy seat,
You are the missing link each year,
The absent part of the scene,
But christmas will go on again,
Filled with hearty cheer.
I'll light a candle just for you,
Remembering good times,
Thinking back to days gone by,
And when the old clock chimes,
I'll think of you on christmas day
As if you'd never gone,
And remember you with the fondest of love,
Your memory will live on.

Jane there are moments in life when we want time to stand still because they are so beautiful that we don't want to lose them. Every celebration reminds us of what we have lost. Excellent piece!
