I have embarked upon a journey long
Have no friend, not a soul to keep me company
I am beautiful as a blossom, pure as a breeze
This journey I have started on my own
A journey with no company.
Like a dry leaf, I have been shed from my branch
Could be swallowed by the waves of wind
The roads are lonely, silence rules everywhere
Still I have hope, I will find my destination.
This journey I have started on my own
A journey with no company.
Like seasons change, so do people and their faces
Many do I meet today, who'd leave me tomorrow
Whom should I complain to, who would listen to me
There is nobody who is my own, all are strangers
Know not, where this journey of life takes me.
This journey I have started on my own
A journey with no company.
Many do I meet today, who´d leave me tomorrow..true we are alone in this journey
Thank you Rini, for reading this lovely poem by Kavita. She is such a talented poet. Obliged. But the credit goes to her.
Thank you again and again and again for translating her poetry- - - - -I have fallen in love with this piece. It has such a huge impact in its very structure and word choice and that haunting repetition. I am putting this on my fav list and you, sir, deserve the heart-felt appreciation of ever member of PH for being such a lover of poetry that you translate other poets work so we too can bathe ourselves in the writings of others from other countries. Bless you, my friend. You should get a FRIEND OF POETS award! ! !

The poems of Kavita Singh are very interesting and demand keen attention. A very talented poet she is. As I enjoyed reading them and translating them, I posted them here for the benefit of non-Hindi speaking readers on ph. Happy to note that you liked them. But the credit definitely goes to Kavita for the exquisite original My translation, at the best could be a distant image... Thank you both...
Beautiful poem. I will have to look for original. Would be able to enjoy if it is in Hindi. Thanks for the translation.
