Khuje Paoya - Finding You (Translation In English) Poem by Malabika Ray Choudhury

Khuje Paoya - Finding You (Translation In English)

Rating: 5.0

I gave you a lot of love,

Myself received so much,

Yet, the innermost corner of my heart aches with an endless sadness,

I could give more! !

I am still the same woman, although not the same,

With a heart full of love,

breathing the fragrant flowers,

I have waited, I will wait, for decades and decades - Like Shakuntala!

You are far away, but you are not far from the mind,

Stay untroubled with all your happinesses,

Don't feel sorry for me,

My life is full,

With a strange sensation of content,

I myself don't know when it began!

In a song from my childhood,

In those playful moments of bliss,

It is inseparable from my heart.

I have found you,

I have found myself! !

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I thought it would be nice if I add the translation of my own poem which I wrote in Bengali. Bengali is a major language in India and Bangladesh.

Yes Ma'am, Odia and Bengali are languages that appear like two sisters born from the same womb but brought up at two different places. I have forgot Bengali Scripts, which my papa in my teen days made me learn. If you add the poem in English script, I shall be able to read and enjoy, as I understand the language but can't read it. Regards. Subhas

Thank you, Subhas, for your comments, which I look forward to. I, honestly, loved the language in the original Bengali poem, but felt delighted to know you enjoyed the translation. I translated the poem, specifically because some of my poet-friends might be interested. Wondering if the language from Orissa and Bengali are similar! Best wishes, Malabika
