Let Us Kiss And Part - Poem by Arun Maji
Maybe we have loved too much.
Maybe we have drunk each other
Too much, too long.
So much for such a long time
That we are full of each other.
Now let us kiss and part.
Part far, part wide.
So far and so wide
That we don't see each other,
Long each other, dream each other.
Too much love has become
Such a habit for us, pain for us.
Now, let us have some emptiness,
Some thirst, some unmet desire.
Let us have some pain
Of not being loved, not being cared.
Because togetherness pushing us apart
So, have some separateness.
And then let that separateness
Bring us back together.
O my heart,
We are so sick of each other's love.
So, let us have some pain of not being loved.
Come, let us kiss deep and long
And then part.

Love is a bond between passion and damnation, pleasure and torture in equal measures. Humans are complex and our relationships more so, this poem understands that in full and its message is something all of us can shake in agreement. Congratulations for Poem of the day! (Report)Reply
I CITE here the 5th and concluding stanza:
O my heart,
We are so sick of each other's love.
So, let us have some pain of not being loved.
Come, let us kiss deep and long
And then part.............................a bit odd ending, but this is love based upon A NOT ONESS OF HEART, true love won´t leave, TRUE LOVE´LL NEVER LEAVE....Sad, tragic poem, CONGRATULATIONS as MPOTD.10 (Report)Reply
Pain teaches the value of joy just as separation teaches the importance of love in togetherness. Beautifully expressed thoughts. Congratulations! Loved the painting. (Report)Reply

Something really strange happening here. It is shocking. Is there any saturation point in true love where we don't see, long or dream each other any more? Though, I may not agree with the lovers' resolve, I do appreciate the poem on its merits and beauty. Thanks and congrats dear poet.
