Lets Dance Poem by Hazel Durham

Lets Dance

Rating: 5.0

Lost voices cry out to reach her heart,
Voices from the past to comfort her in this hopeless time
Of deceit, lies and destruction that is the crime,
Her man has thrown away their time,

Fragile tears fall easily from battered emotions,
Her soul and heart is now an empty shell,
Only the mighty sea fills her head,
She knows she couldn't be well,

The monster waves drowning her past, her future
As she lets out a yell
From twisted emotions, she must be in hell,
She stands naked in front of the mirror,

She observes ugliness reflecting in the glass,
Allowing her body to be used by her man,
As he said sweet words before rushing off in his van,
The wind howls at her to realize the truth,

He doesn't desire her or admire her,
He has stolen her sanity, he has no humanity,
She is an empty shell listening to the music of the sea
Calling to her 'Lets Dance'

It is her new romance,
As she feels her heart and soul dance,
She is filled with the rhythm and beat,
There is no defeat,

Only the life-force of the beat.

Beautiful poem Hazel. She is used by the time which leaves her broken hearted. Still she feels her heart and dance, she is filled with the rhythm and beat. She gets up and walk again. Loved reading it.

The image of a helpless woman who got lured by disguised deceit and lies and allowed herself to be used at will by a rogue of a man until finally thrown to the drains. Fortunately she is not all lost! She has found a new passion in the sea and it creates waves of joy in her! As ever, a moving write!

When i read it what i feel was like reading a burning letter as much as the burning emotion soaring inside it..that you want to let go and it flying above then gone...and what falling later was blessing rain because you are over it...i feel so good :)
