half of me away
in my dream without delay
my lower half gone
just then i thought i could coast
but awoke a piece of toast
Mark, i love both version equally...thus i should appreciate both, that such a beautiful set of work :)
Thanks, Bri! Plagerism, odd? ? You were clearly thinking of what is not some academic transgression. But plagiarism? ? I'm clearly talking about toast. Carroll is all about the 'mighty dead.'
I also say: you may like two poems (mine) 'inspired by' Lewis Carroll: Alice Threw The Looking Glass (Not-So-Pretty) ... [rock & Roll Fairy Tale; Fantasy? ; 1970s ] (3-20-15) and: Alice In (And Out Of) .....Blunderland * …[ Fiction; Becoming An; Parents' Desires Vs. Offspring's Abilities & Desires ] (11-20-19 bri :)
" homage" ? ? , it's almost plagerism.* * this PC underline this and i discovered this is the ('odd', to me) spelling: " plagiarism" OK, i was curious and Googled Carroll's Dreamland, finding a very nice, not-too-long poem. I was misinterpreting your Poet's Notes as meaning it was/is Carroll's poem you put in the Poet's Notes. " toast" ? Shall i try to " butter you up" ? ? bri ;)
To write something that favourably compares to Lewis Carroll is a high compliment! I agree with all the other comments that state the reader likes both versions. Smashing imagination and talent, Mj!
Hi Mark.. Pure and all of me want to get rid of none other but pure and all of me, so I dream.. is it! If I am divided then there will be two pure me :) , but I dream. very nice cycle and poem
Muhammad, thank you so much. Yes, division is really at the core of this verse. I remember being once asked, which way do you go? and wanting to do the impossible...
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
M.J., I like both versions. But I prefer the earlier one. It totally reminds me of astral projection. Maybe, post both under different titles. As always, excellent write!
Thank you so very much, Richard. And thank you for that suggestion/inspiration...I am thinking about that second title! Thanks again.
