Lies - Poem by Lynzi Berner

Lie to me

Tell me that
hurting me
has hurt you

I'll pretend that
we are being torn apart
by forces unseen

And you can have
a good laugh
at knowing that the
pain has begn anew

I will mourn
our false love
and you can throw away
my memory
the heart I gave you

It's no good to me now

What am I supposed
to do with a
broken heart?

Take it
walk over it
and maybe it will
sting and cut
making you bleed

I gave it to you
and you destroyed it

Enjoy your
shallow victory

One day you'll wake
to find that you
left
the one person
who would never give up
on you
