Lifes Little Introspections - Poem by Mary Nagy

The holidays have been a time of looking at my life.
It makes me wonder how I'm doing as a mother and a wife.

I hope I am successful in this most important task.
I know that I have tried my best...... is this all that I can ask?

It makes me think about the times I could have given more.
I have to also focus on our life beyond the door.

I see room for some improvement in this life I call my own.
It's lifes little introspections that helps to see if I have grown.

With each new year that passes I can say life has improved.
It helps when I make sure that negativity is removed

I'm always trying Mary, but I suppose you can't teach on old Dog (Bitch in my case) new tricks. Nice write indeed. Keep improving, although you nice enough now. Love Ernestine XXX (Report) Reply

Mary...I really like the sentiment in this poem, but I think most of the lines are too wordy. Take the line, 'With each new year that passes I can say life has improved'
for instance. It could easily read, 'With each new year life has improved, ' and the line that follows it could also be reduced, retaining its rhyme. I hope this is a helpful suggestion....John

    I really enjoyed reading this.
The last line is so true, staying positive
about what you are doing is important.
I felt your words. Looking at your work
    helps my writing, Thank you.
    Kindest Regards Slim. x.

Welcome back Mary with a very nice poem!
It's called growth, and it works better without the negativity, as you say.

Poetic wisdom. Yep! It always hits you as the year is drawing to a close. You start by looking back over the past year, and before you know it, you're in infant school.

    Lovely piece Mary as always.
