Lights Of Home Poem by Ruby Honeytip

Lights Of Home

Rating: 4.0

From where you are
With a whimsical smile
You curled your comforts
Around me
Just for a moment
You lit my darkened path
With the lights of home.
With kind family memories
So clear I felt the clasp
Of large hands
Protecting mine
As high above my smallness
You guided me
Through memories of familiar byways
And took me home.
I know it seems like nothing.
I know it was normal for you,
But for someone fighting
Through the dark
Your warmth was a torch of friendship
That will never blow out
And that light burns on
Whenever you need it
To light your own way
With kindness returned
