Lingering Sigh Poem by shakil ahmed

Lingering Sigh

Rating: 5.0

I saw her hazy face
Beyond the thicket of pine
I heard her lingering sighs
Filled with frozen sadness
Standing alone in a desolate place
To shed her last tear drop
She pined for a moon-lit night
Crushing the draper of gloom
Clotted blood of my veins melted
Touching my thumping feet
A flickering flame of longing
Flared in the arms of sky
Scaring away the hooting birds
Flaunting around her stringent body
Thumping of her throbbing heart
Floated in the winter breeze
Standing alone in solitary night
She was gasping for breath
Pulling me away from myself
Her mournful and timid look
Slit my heart in two halves
In the crumpling gloom of
Alluring night.

I love the line...Pulling me away from myself It tells of the surrender to love. Excellent poem!

A superb write. Love is not just pleasure, but also a lot of pain. A sense of gloom, of longing prevails. Very captivating write with a wonderful use of vocabulary. A big 10.
