Loneliness is like an old friend
always there in the sleepless night
the distraction throughout the day
the over familiar and unwanted guest
who seems to out last their welcome
loneliness lingers in my shadow
stalking my every move and thought
how well we have come to know each other
as though we would be lost if separated
a life long connection perhaps
a friendship for life well founded
loneliness my forever friend
I'd say go to hell
only we are already there
through day and night
you are at my side
we share so much in common
that others outside of this click
would never, could never, understand
so tell me old friend
what will tomorrow bring
Loneliness is tormenting when it is like a burdensome unwanted guest whose company we no longer enjoy.A lovely poetic expression of your heart.
Being constantly in loneliness, finally you have only loneliness and you accept this as your friend, you have peace with being lonely. True loveliest worded!
Rereading this fascinating poem, brings also melancholy with, but as long as lonliness is your inseparable friend, very imaginable! True brilliantly worded, a friend is everything we need!
