Look At The One You Love With Fresh Eyes Poem by Norah Tunney

Look At The One You Love With Fresh Eyes

Rating: 5.0

Look at the one you love-
look at him
as if for the first time,

carry no memory of past
look at him with fresh eyes,

see his strange beauty
and allow yourself to be surprised every time,

do not limit your relationship
to conversation,
sense the spacious presence,
the silence behind his words,

do not take him for granted or presume to know him
for he holds the mystery
of the universe in his blood.

Amazing romantic write. Deeply insightful and a great subtle message for the lovers. Indeed love can only last when we look at it with fresh eyes, with a new perspective. A pleasure to read.

I try to carry no past when I look at those I love, somehow then they always remain somewhat of a mystery. It's exciting Nosheen to keep seeing life as if for the first time. Thank you.

This is not only an attractive poem, it is really a great idea for long-term relationships. Perhaps even friendships. And when did we look at our children with fresh unpredetermined eyes? Hmmmm... you've got me thinking- -what a delightful thing for a poet to do! I like how you structured your poem to give due emphasis to your lines. Poetry flows through the veins of this poem: see his strange beauty and allow yourself to be surprised every time, - sense the spacious presence, the silence behind his words - for he holds the mystery of the universe in his blood. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Intelligent advice clothed and permeated with a mystic loveliness
