In cold and bitter dark
Madness falls like rain
The muddied slopes of reason
Slowly slip away
Gentle momentum
In falling
Gains
And brings the mountain
Tumbling down
Jim your alliteration is really good here, and with the slow pace the piece feel like a slow fall but gaining momentum to affect the proverbial mountain. The subject is dark but very well imaged. Your usual way with words wins out again.10 + from Fay.
