From the very first time
We wrapped ourselves
In a chrysalis
Of love and silk sheets,
And now we have emerged
A butterfly, you and I.
Blemish matching blemish,
Down to the(beauty) spot.
Looking at you soul-deep is
Too much like mirror watching.
Alone I may fascinate the eye,
But without you, how would
I ever become air-borne?
Together coordinating each move
We flutter skyward.
Full of imagery...... ......nice job of painting pictures with words, Lillian! John
hhmmm...never thought of the butterfly as two...but you're right-lovers are like two worms entwining and becoming one....
Love is like a butterfly, it goes where it pleases and it pleases where it goes. The smili of an insect becoming an insignia of love has really beautified this poem describing the flourishing sequence of love and that then transforming into something really divine.True love when pursued is indeed beyond our grasp......
'Love and Silk Sheets' - from chrysalis to butterly - a beautiful allusion and a stunning metamorphosis. S :)
Symbolically and spiritually, the 'butterfly' has been used to signify new beginnings, and that certainly works well in this poem! Thanks, Lillian! 10+++ John
The metaphor of silk sheets is a beautiful one as you allow me to explore the imagery contained within this gorgeous poem. Butterflies are very spiritual and when a poet writes a butterfly poem I tell them my Mother came back as a butterfly and helped our family overcome a crisis. 10 love Karin
well, first it is the title attracted me.. ma'am.. and the poem itself is very sweet indeed, , .. thanks for this one... delicious read! ! 10++ with love shan
'A chrysalis of love and silk sheets'. A stunning allegory of intimacy delivered with great delicacy. I particularly like the blemishes you share in your love duet which bring this air born piece charmingly down to earth. Flutter is such a beautiful word too. Love, Allie x x x x

LST, I like this and it is interesting to think of butterflies and blemishes together.
