Mass Killings Poem by louis rams

Mass Killings

Mass Killings

Seventeen lives were taken today, because a person went astray
Guns like drugs can be bought anywhere, and the dealers do not care.
Dealers say it's a service they are supplying, although they know they are lying.
The bottom line is all they see - they don't care about you and me.
Social media postings of a sick mind may show
But to prove something is mighty slow.
Our war should be about getting drugs and weapons off the streets
So something like this will not repeat.
Until the public takes a stand - Uzi's and assault weapons will not be banned.
The public is being killed at an alarming rate
and the politicians Won't close that gate
because there's too much money that they can make.

These merciless killings are repeating. Innocent people are getting killed every now. Your poem voices the anger and frustration of the common people.
