Sometimes I look around and see
Just how I’m shown my life should be
How I’m to look, what I’m to do
Also comes from watching you
In magazines and on TV
You show me how life’s meant to be
So all I have and all I’ve known
Comes only through what I’ve been shown
But wait….I think if I could see
How much better off I would be
To view things as they truly are
Not how you show but from afar
I won’t conform to what you say
Is what I need for life and play
It’s love and family, care and giving
Not what we have but how we’re living
If we believe this then we’re blessed
No longer wanting, no longer stressed
You cease to have almighty power
Fade with the sun, Gone with the hour
We know now what you’re really for
To dissatisfy and nothing more
