Midway Poets Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Midway Poets

Rating: 5.0

The inherited genes speak,
and play an important role
to change a child in a grownup man,
but it's not our heart that loves or hates.

The language that we learn during socialization,
the literature that was created by our ascendants,
develops capabilities to avail opportunities
bestowed upon us by the ancient nature,
we have renamed it as our fates.

Neither is it color of our skin, nor our pink hearts
not even our faith nor nationality, not even our blood,
these are our thoughts that win lovely nice friends
we think, we ink, we speak to attract our readers,
we don't listen to each other and we do not talk
still we know each other more than the closed dear mates.

We are luckier than those great classical poets,
who could not convey their thoughts throughout their lives,
we never claim we are Shelley or Shakespeare, Byron or Keats,
we are mediocre at a website
but it is read throughout the world,
and we are capable to convey our thoughts
within a twinkling our dreaming eyes.
In love of poetry how pleasant are our dates!

A forum to share and motivate to write. Feedback and inspiration. I wonder how Shakespeare would have been different had he access to the internet?

A bitter truth this website has so many good poets but who is going to be recognized as good poet? Whoever he may be but if he was intoduced by PH, it will be a matter of proud for PH.

A great and perceptive poem. I agree with this write more particularly with the last lines of par.3 and par.4 in its entirety. Yes, we are lucky indeed that we have this powerful site to express what are in our hearts, our dreams even our inadequacies. It gives solace.and inspiration knowing there are poets that could inspire and uplift the spirits and fuel the minds.to pen more.
