Mistaken Meteorology - Poem by Kim Barney

Flakes are falling softly,
covering cars, shrubs,
sidewalks and lawns.

Frosty the Snowman
is quietly descending
piece by piece,
some assembly required.

Trees are glistening,
blanketed in white.
The stillness is broken
only by the gentle rumble
of the snowplow.

My granddaughter
shows me her phone
with the local weather report:

Zero percent chance
of snow today
in Glenwood.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

True story. It happened 28 December 2019 in Glenwood, Utah.
My son-in-law said:
"I should have been a weatherman! It's the only occupation where you can be wrong all the time and still keep your job! "

Not my street; I was visiting my daughter and her family, but if I managed to put you there, then the poem succeeded. Thanks for all your great comments!
