Mud Slide

Pull my heart out
of the mud
Sliding deep into the slime
of depression
Rain instills tears
Clouds cover me
Feeling only oppression

You look at me with your troubled
Shaking your head
Not knowing that I am all broken
I've become good at hiding
my sorrowful faces to fit
the places
Leaving only my smiling face showing
as I linger among the crowds

Holding your hand
I feel proud
There's only one person
who see's me as I leave my inner self open
Only at times do I want to scream
Shaking our foundation
Changing my faces daily
to the mood
I crumble inside
Trying to hide all my fears
that come alive

Deep inside my heart is handed
to you

My love

You are my stronghold
Keeping me sane in troubled times
I cling to you in the midnight hour
of our love
For without you
my heart would split and I would be
left alone and
