Melody filled the air
The notes were struck high
I froze in my seat
While inside me a river flowed
The walls reverberated, the roof trembled
The pulses quickened, the heartbeats soared
My body got wings
Floated over the vales and hills
Above the skies, beyond the shadow of heaven and hell
My spirit broke loose from the trap
Love and hate, pride and shame
That stifled my soul
Visited me no more
I was drowned in music
Rippling streams, gushing springs
Were within my heart
I wished the melody would never cease
Forever and forever, it would live on
In some part of me
In some part of you.

A compelling and creative composition that is both moving and majestic! Well done my friend!
Music offers tranquility! Soothes mind and soul. A fabulous poem...appreciated!
This is the ecstasy music causes - it coaxes us out of bodies, that is, our normal frame of sensory reference; it opens new vistas and visions for the soul to see now and fully experience later, in another dimension of life perhaps; I see much of this poem in the future tense: it's not our reality now but it points to something that may be in the future. I live a secure, ordinary life on earth, Nosheen, but I've read visionary accounts and heard visionary music by composers like Scriabin, Stockhausen, Mahler. It's important to test the boundaries of artistic vision - but not all the time. What music inspired this poem? I'd like to listen to it. Otherwise I'm a listener to music of the ordinary consciousness - Mozart, Brahms, Debussy.
Some of the lines of this work are very good, e.g....while inside me a river flowed....or....My body got wings/ Floated over the vales and hills..These are painstakingly written.
Music fills our heart. Yes, we also wish the melody of life should never cease. It should play on and on. Loved reading it. Beautiful flow of words.
Beautiful lines and very much meaningful. I was drowned in music Rippling streams, gushing springs Were within my heart I wished the melody would never cease loved them.

How nicely the poetess has described the effects of music on her soul and body and how lovingly she adds an element of love to his poem by sharing the effects to someone. What a beautiful poem!
