My First Holiday Without You Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

My First Holiday Without You

Rating: 5.0

That morning, I woke up late
For the third time that week
And doing the usual things like
Checking my email and having breakfast
I tried not to cry, but the temptation
Was too great to bear
It was the Friday before the Thanksgiving weekend
And the feeling of loss made me want to give up
My first holiday without you
And I felt the loneliness worsening
For everyone had plans but me
Except the laundry must be done
But I waited for the next day
Sunday, I wasn't sure
I was no longer sure of anything

Not easy to cope with it initially but with passage of time things will settle down. Nice poem with true feelings.5*
