My Mask - Poem by Crystal Pierce

My mask covers my face,
from the fear all over the place.
It tells my lies,
as it covers my tearful eyes.

It hides my frown,
as I stroll through town.
It makes me seem to smile,
but let someone walk in my shoes for a mile.

I can't show my face to you,
if that's what your asking me to do.
I won't do it for anyone,
not in the dark or in the sun.

My mask covers the pain I feel.
I can't take it off, it makes me feel healed.
I may tell you lies,
but I don't want you to hear my cries.

Your mask is so thin. Everything is showing- every bit of your emotions. Fantastic poem.100+ May God bless you, child! (Report) Reply
