My Fond Memories Poem by Crystal Pierce

My Fond Memories

Rating: 5.0

The thought never crossed my mind
that this notebook could take me back in time.
The old memories we shared with one another,
brings us back to a time we relied on our father and mother.
We've grown up and grown apart,
but y'all will always have a place in my heart.
We are splitting ways, so let it be.
But I'll always remember those that were there for me.
Y'all made me laugh more than I can imagine
and made me feel love and compassion.
Y'all got me through the worst parts of growing up,
so here's a toast, so raise your cup.
To the Giant in the room, there's never a dull moment.
To the two idiots waiting for homework y'all were hell sent.
To the short stop, I'm sorry we drifted, I'll make it up to you.
To the growling girl, I didn't hate and those moments I did were few.
To the Brown Eyed Girl you were by side thick and thin,
no matter what mood I was in.
To my Lover boy so far you've made a large impact in my life,
and maybe you'll make a bigger one when you make me your wife.

But I'll ways remember those that were there for me..........oops! I'll always I didn't hate and those moments were few............interesting people in our lives tend to be replaced by other people. grade school friends with middle and high school friends, not always the same people. grandparents and aunts and uncles and parents and siblings with partners/spouses, children/offspring, different neighbors. etc. etc. new employer(s) /co-workers. etc. (again!) but memories keep some people 'alive' from time to time. i'm glad you have some fond memories. so do it. and i''m getting new ones at times! and not just of people, but places/things also. very well written and nice rhyming. to MyPoemList. bri :)
