** My Small Little Secret ** Poem by ANJALI SINHA

** My Small Little Secret **

Rating: 4.2

As you lay on my lap, I awoke one night
Trying to stop the juggernaut of dreams
Sweet as u lay, on my lap like cream
In those dreadful dreams,
tinged with the rainbows of my love
Soaked with saline tears
That fell like snow pearls
Crimson and red, my eyes betrayed
Yes its you, its you, its you alone they said
In, and around a mulberry bush
Playing as you say----a game of truth
When you became that liar, to win my heart
You became alone, you left me with no choice
When I said “I dont love you”
But you knew how
When the sound of your voice
Was like summer pools
Upon my hot brow
My thoughts your provocations
Didn’t they reveal my small little secret

May God only think of rise in you,
That glitter of hope, dispel the memories so blue,
Why hide myself, for no rhyme or reason
When hinged my soul for you, without treason
Give all your tears, your pain, your sadness
To me---- for its you, its you, its you alone
In, an around that mulberry bush,
Playing as you say -----, a game of my mind
Nay not my slave, but master of my soul
When I opened that door of my heart sacrosanct
Didn’t that reveal my small little secret.

Your soul breathing, in my love called ocean
Scampering too and fro, on the sands of devotion
Where would it hide, on the rocky floor of passion
Enchanted and growing, each hour, each minute, each second’s longing
More like torture, a torch set in action
Then its you, its you, its you alone
In, and around that mulberry bush
Playing as you say------my game of the heart
Not as shadow of my soul, bending on knees
But a knight in shining armour, sporting crimson on his wrist
Didn’t that reveal my small little secret.

In my name, you will find the mirth of the gods
The offering to the heavens, the jelly, on platters with flowers,
My clouds you detoured by raining of love
But my blood you spattered with, daggers of lies
still, you its you, its you, its you alone
In, and around that mulberry bush
Playing as you say-------my game of the soul
To be that orchid amongst the crowd of dandelions
that sun, a ray of hope which wont be
Shadowed by clouds of despairs
Or the waves of ocean of doubt
Didn’t that reveal my small little secret

Why should I say it hardly mattered
When in reality, I was shattered
I fretted, I trembled, I weeped
And yet like a saint, at night, I sleeped
My hands folded on my breast
Like a seraph in the realms of rest
And in those twilight dreams
Like waves that lie still and gleams
I miss you so much, it seems
In and around that mulberry bush
Playing as u say---------a game of honour
To be that glow worm golden
In a dell of dews scattering rainbows beholden
DOES THIS NOW REVEAL MY SMALL LITTLE SECRET

I am a fan of ur love poems.. if u dont allow me to fall in love with u, I may surely fall in love with Anjali, the poetess in those marvellous poems. But this time I have caught u on the wrong foot....dear poetess First, u used Sleeped... wrong word. it should be immediately corrected u know 'Slept' in place of 'sleeped' Secondly, Ur conclusion is nearly a copy of the very famous lines of Shelley's To a Skylark' where the bird is compared to glow worms... Nevertheless dont get disheartened because u have excelled in the very art of writing love poems - at once sensuous and ever heart-touching: I could not resist the temptation to quote some lines as my old age is responsible for loss of memory: here are the beautiful lines shining with poetic glow... Sweet as u lay, on my lap like cream In those dreadful dreams, tinged with the rainbows of my love Soaked with saline tears That fell like snow pearls Crimson and red, my eyes betrayed Yes its you, Fantastic, Anjali, only u can write these lines...
