Name Of The Festival Is Chaiti

Rating: 5.0

Chaiti is really beautiful name of the fest,
Beautiful small town Gunupur is the best.

This is celebrated in care in this winter,
To watch this you run oh dear sprinter.

Day is dazzling but stage carries new drum,
At evening will play it Tromie and Trom.

Traditional trumpet is played we hear horn,
Food is tasty in fest we take crop and corn.

On stage this shines our Odisha State's map,
Seventeen is year still December has no gap.

Celebration is done beside town bus stand,
South land is lucky; art of tattoo is in hand.

Eastern range of mountains mumbles green,
This festival is seen in nature's cute screen.

Wheel of peace moves and temple many go,
Chaiti comes once in year, many of us know.

Chaiti means consciousness the power of soul,
By graceful light of God we achieve our goal.

Gunupur means the heaven of values and moral,
Words carry wisdom whether written or oral.

People in different parts of the world celebrate their tradition, culture with mirth and joy… ‘Chaiti’ is a festival that brings cheer to people especially in the locality of Gunupur. People forget all sorrows, get a chance to refresh their minds with joys and happiness, play traditional musical instruments like trumpets and drums with undefined ecstasy! People relish their crops and corns like ambrosia (Cont..)

This poem makes the people acquaint with the ethos and tradition of Gunupur! Ours is a land with so much of cultural diversities and there is much difference between the Southern and the Northern and even the Eastern and the Western states of India! A very informative piece!

A magnificent poem to a glorious cultural event. There is a quality to your words....that makes time seemingly slow down, and then stop. This allows one to meld into the fabric of the festivities. A wonderful poem.
