Never-Ending Love Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Never-Ending Love

Rating: 5.0

Child, when you drift
Far away from home
And sail out along the wind-tossed sea
Like a ship alone at night
Guided by the luminescent light of distant stars,
I will have no way of knowing
If the people who surround you
Are treating you right
And if you still smile in the sunlight.

Don’t forget you’re loved in the midst
Of life’s onslaught of chaotic events;
There are secret prayers echoing
In the chambers of a tender heart
That will always exist and be an integral part
Of whom you are as a human being,
Hands that will still touch your hands
In reassuring midnight dreams.

God will not leave you unprotected
Even a thousand miles from my breath
And I will not forget any promise I made to you
Even if I close my eyes unwillingly to death.

Sometimes 'beautiful' says it all. This is one of those times. Rare lines from one of the rarest poets on this site. Warmest regards, Sandra

Your poem touched my spirit as no other poems did. This is what I silently whisper to my children deep in the night when I can't sleep thinking about them so far away from home.

There is no way to rate this poem, Uriah... I feel those words so easily when I think of my children. This is the most beautiful poem, and now my new favorite. I think you've outdone yourself, Uriah! Lee xoxo
