New Generation Poem by louis rams

New Generation

New generations

Every ten years is a new generation - new technologies, new expectations
It seems it's all going back to the days of Sodom and Gomorrah
Where having sex with anyone was in perfect order.
Values have disappeared with each generation
And no one is searching for their salvation.
Respect for their elders have gone astray and no longer do families sit and pray.
How many kids now say nightly prayers and their parents don't seem to care.
Cell phone, laptops, ipads, and more are all given to them at the door.
There is no more talking on the phones it is all texting
Yet they find it strange that before cell phones people would write one another.
If they want to talk about sex, it is called Sexting sending nude or semi- nude
Pictures to one another.
Now the thought must come to you? Will your next generation be taught values
From you or will they be uncaring too?
