Nightmare Poem by Jessica Elizondo

Nightmare

Rating: 4.5

I scream. I don't think I can run any faster. I can hear it's razor sharp claws hitting the roots of the trees slithering on the ground. I can feel it breathing down my neck, I shiver. Its foaming, and spitting as it catches my scent. I run but I almost collapse. I suddenly can't breath and fall to the cold, hard, rainy ground, and water splahes around me. I feel the wieght of the devilish beast crush my lungs even more. Now I really can't breathe. I struggle to get up and escape, as I'm gasping for air. It digs it's claws in deeper and laughs at the pain in my screams. I can feel myself fading...........I wake up......It was only a nightmare.....or is it society?

If it is society, then it has a devilish hold on you. You can't escape society, but you can loosen its grip on you. GW62

I think it's society! (lol) I love the way your poem is just typed out freely. It expresses so much...
