No Crime Poem by monica monet

No Crime

Rating: 5.0

NO CRIME
Don’t look askance
‘cause I’m not young
Some day you’ll
be there too

It is no crime to
linger on
It took some
Work to do

The waves at shore
unravel time
They pummel
seduce some more

I try to stave
each threatening push
And yet I face
this war

Please pause a moment
if you will
I want to reach
you still

Stay open to
your heart of love
Don’t close off
give the shove

Stinging silence
nonchalant speech
With every look
you breach

The open hearted
values held
Before your peers
propelled

‘You don’t belong
you withered leaf
How could you
think to teach

We who have it all
you know
For now the Youth
are Chief

This poem spans across a lifetime, Being there is definitely no crime The raging bull of youth, newfangled ideas, uncouth Challange and raise their heads, storms don't spare anyone Withere leaves, may not belong, but promise to stay long....
