To see the rising of the dawn
The fire of morning skies,
As day begins with you I know
My heart forever lies,
For now my passion burns so strong
And never shall it end,
No greater love have I for you
My dear eternal friend.
The flowers never smelt so sweet
Before you came to me,
Nor did the birds all sing so loud
With joy from every tree,
I feel so blessed to be alive
And breathe the morning air,
No greater love have I for you
No other could compare.
For now the winter's at an end
And spring has come again,
The colours flow so gracefully
Where once the land so plain,
Now filled with golden daffodils
That ring from every tier,
No greater love have I for you
I long to hold you near.
So take my hand and let us walk
Beneath the blossomed bowers,
For we can see the beauty there
And rest amongst the flowers,
Then listen to the songbirds sing
Their melodies divine,
No greater love have I for you
So proud to call you mine.
Absolutely spellbinding Andrew. It flows like a great love and it was singing to me. The couplets at the end of each stanza just work so well with this picturesque love poem. 10 Karin Anderson
Andrew, this is one of my favorite of your writtings... The way you have captured the reader into a land of filled with sunshine and daphodills, with the tenderness of endless love that flows so sweetly penned so gentley... Very very nice job, but then I am partial, as I love all your writtings, and you are my favorite poet! ! Bonnie
Poetic music that is both inspiring and uplifting. Thank you, Andrew, for this eloquent offering. Warm regards, Sandra
Nature and love make one's life blissful in the human world! Nice imagery to remember and recollect in loneliness to enjoy life in all its splendour!
Andrew, it won my heart on its first reading, nowhere, now, I want to go, I want to dwell upon it. CP
