No Longer Can I Stay - Poem by Emma Kessler

My tongue is heavy
With words I have left unspoken
I want to tell you
But my heart thinks I would be mistaken

I don't know how long I'll be gone
So I want to say goodbye
But you would never let me leave
No matter how hard I tried

I almost began to tell you
But you warned me not to say
Because beyond tonight
No longer can I stay

I know you won't understand
My longing for this place
It is what is meant to be
So my destiny I will chase

Tonight I am leaving
For only God knows how long
But the distant place I am going
Is where I feel I belong

    'My tongue is heavy
With words I have left unspoken...'
    Very nicely written, Emma.

    This opening...
Says how enriched one life is.
I like this poem a lot.
