If I'd followed my heart,
I'd not feel this pain,
Of longing for you,
Again and again.
For I'm such a fool,
To have left you back then,
I had the chance,
But I blew it again.
In life there are paths,
That we're faced to choose,
I made a mistake,
And rejected you,
I cannot go back,
And change my mistake,
I have to accept,
That this is my fate.
But it doesn't change the way that I feel,
When I walked away,
My fate was then sealed.
I think of you now,
Realise what I've missed,
The love that you gave,
Your sweet tender kiss,
I wonder each day,
Do you think of me?
As I close my eyes,
You're all that I see.

Very powerful, moving poem. The pathos and melancholy of regret, is a human condition that touches my soul deeply. I feel this poem beyond words.
