woodsmoke,
frozen breath hangs,
time suspended...
the old neighborhood store
closed, building abandoned
to the rats...
a broke down Chevy,
a tent blown by the wind.
children hunched shiver,
the fire crackles and spits,
trucks race by going nowhere...
snow flurries, cracked lips.
a can of tomatoes, corn,
and green beans...
a couple potatoes,
the pot boiling slow..
'we the people' lost,
out of sync with time...
the six o'clock news
says nothing at all!
I like this poem! ! ! Good penning! ! ! The one who never dies is news))))))
A great poem, theres a lot kept out of the news. Thanks for the comments about me as a poet.

I would like to translate this poem
America and the twenty first century frozen in time. The six o clock news says nothing at all. Well conceived, skillfully articulated.
