I live with silence an old friend at home;
no talk back radio for me; no television channels;
no talking on a smartphone, only a proven landline.
Thus my days go by in pauses, restarts, and quiet.
I have the ideal conditions for reading and meditation
about the silence of eternity or whatever the situation
inside the red-brick house or out in the flower garden,
which sometimes looks perfectly weedless, like heaven.
I used to play more records than now; I don't miss them;
At night, I switch on a dehumidifier whose whirr is pleasant
and it puts me to sleep like an on-again off-again lullaby.
I no longer have to wake up to a buzzing alarm going off early.
When I hear muzak in shopping malls, I'm thankful for the classroom
where the only sounds were the students' various voices
who were either talking to one another or making choices
to answer my leading questions: I did not beg the question.
Living with silence means living with heavenly pleasure. Silence is the best home. Having desire to live with silence is the beast policy and desire. Silence is definitely very friendly. Through silence we can feel power of meditation and link with God. We can feel better to this universe. We get the best answers in silence. A beautiful poem is excellently penned...10
I agree with everything you say. Silence leads to God. I had to revise this poem slightly today.
It's a perfectly crafted ode to silence. An atmosphere of serenity cultivated over the past several decades reflects in your life-style as well as in the interiors and exteriors of your home. The warmth of words can be felt. Thanks, Michael.
Blaring loud music is deafeningly distasteful to me and this awesome poem that appreciates the peaceful auietude of your lovely pictured home sweet home makes for fantastic poetry. Kudos I must say,
Thanks for zooming in on the poem's main point-that silence is better than loud, blaring music, especially in a block of flats.
What a standout oxymoron-' loudest silence'. You prove that in a making a comment, it can be that less is more.

I would like to translate this poem
Silence has great power to give power of perception. In silence we perceive many things of this creation. An excellent poem is beautifully penned. Reading this once more I feel glad.
