~ OMNI PERVADING MOTHER ~
Ms. Nivedita
UK
April 28,2010.
[Humble submission: This poem with humility consecrated to Sr. Poet Mom Almeda Knight on her 75th birth day 26th April by a wee daughter from India. From whom I received motherly care guidance and support all thro’ especially in my blue poetic days. I’m indeed a feeble poet to glorify poetically any Mom, so the fountainhead of emotion RNT I’d to bow before and owe from ~ niv]
O Dear
Universe captivating
Charming
Mother O Dear
Sun illuminated
Pure earth
Mother of entirety
We salute You.
O Your
Blue-ocean-aqua-sodden
Feet.
O Your
Breeze-quivered-green
Anchala.
O Your
Himalayan-high-head
Kissing the sky
Like
Hoar frosted crown.
Primordial primeval
Descend of dawn
First chanted psalms
Of Sama Veda
From Thine hermitage
We prostrate at You.
Jnana religions
So many verses and tales
First voiced from
Thine abode in woods
We revere You.
E’er gracious virtuous
You’re giver of staples
Everywhere to everybody
Flowing Janhavi Yamuna
Are Your aqueous
Grace galore
We owe from You.
Givers of
Sacred Nectarine
Humor Holy Milk
O Motherhood Troupe You’re
We worship You.

Glossary
[1] Anchala ~ An expanse of a part of or an end of a loin cloth [Sharee] worn by Indian women
[2] Sama Veda ~ [Sans] Sama = Melody. Veda = Knowledge.
Sama-Veda is better known for the precise meter of its poetry…. There are also painstaking instructions in Sama-Veda about how particular hymns must be sung; this is perhaps because great emphasis was put upon sounds of the words of the mantras and the effect they could have on the environment and the person who pronounced them.
[3] Jnana ~ Wisdom

Very nice write with beautiful verses all through the end. Good one.
Borrowing from memory simply I can Quote changing the name: ' I BOW NOT TO POET ALMEDA KNIGHT BUT TO THE SUFFERING HUMANITY' And you Ms. Nivedita Bagchi also could be proud for your manliness who can feel the suffering of others. It is the humanity which should be practiced by the member of human race. No more about your poem today because the humiliation of rarest species wheeping through the nerve. I thank poet Ms. Nivedita for consecrating Sr. Poet Almeda Knight and such respect to fellow Poets [especially to Seniors] brings a fresh air of courtesy what this poet does… and will make us conscious the need for such things Next to the context of the poem indeed Mothers can never be armed in by any biblio but best poets of world have thrown multifaceted attributes of Mothers by myriad ways…and Great RNT no exception This poetry is a reflection of Vedic days of revering Mother and coinages are very much appropriate Last stanza Givers of Sacred Nectarine Humor Holy Milk O Motherhood Troupe You’re We worship You. The final culmination of womanhood into Great Motherhood very nicely and touching-heart type… poemed [refer Poet’s Holy Milk] …here the use of word Nectarine very much into the spirit of Holy Milk As usual glossary useful to readers Thanks Ma’am for such great effort to glorify Mothers… 10+++ dr.sakti
I know your poetic voice is innovative dear Niv! It's ammmmmazing!
I especially loved the first stanza flowing into these stanzas. Beautiful symmetry in simplicity. Colour in thoughts with such swift transverses I have not done for a long time.10+++ O Your Blue-ocean-aqua-sodden Feet. O Your Breeze-quivered-green Anchala. O Your Himalayan-high-head Kissing the sky Like Hoar frosted crown.
