On A Day In Spring - Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Hearing the birds sing,
Thought, it was for me,
But oh my shadow's smirking!

I like the first two lines. The twist that they reveal. The last verse, I do not se it too clear. (Report)Reply

I must thank you immensely dear Luis Estable, for such frank remark instead of goodie-goodie no-meaners. As to the third line, the birds were singing, and seeing that the poet thinks it was for him (man easily thinks he is at the centre of things) , but it was not so. His own shadow had a smirk on its face. I'd love to get your feedback.
