Only Attitude can Improve climate Change. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Planet earth is almost
four and half billions years old.
Homo sapiens appeared only
around two lakh years ago,
a very small fraction(0.000028℅)
of the earth's age is man's abode.

Experts say human actions have heated
the oceans to the extent of dropping
one atomic bomb into the ocean
every second for the past hundred fifty years
within this remarkably short period.
Water stores maximum heat,
oceanic temperature has increased
thereby retarding our annihilation
and extinction speed.
Still humanity goes on detonating
Hydrogen, Tsar nuclear head.

Our situation is analogous to a frog
in a bowl of warm water.
As temperature goes up,
the frog either jumps to save
or gets killed by the boiling temperature.
Where do we jump to
defend us from the ultimate danger?

Reversing climate change is
is not an act of compassion
towards the planet, but
our only option to last.
This is partly possible only when
our thought pollution decreases
to limit our consumerism
to the least possible extent.
We neglect short term benefits
for the long term interest
and warring attitude comes to end.
