Optimistic Eyes Poem by Wendy Bureau

Optimistic Eyes

Rating: 3.5

Ponder not thee rhetorically asked
For no eminent answer will prevail
Flaggerant, ignorant responses
Read of finest fingers, trained in Braille

Raised insight eluded, as if spoken blind
Whilst the shine of light, births that of darkness
A preponderance of what, or what not?
Beheld silent, disregarded, doubtless

A chaffing disposition, loose of lip
Brought on, indulged, bathed in savory drink
Mouthing a mayhem of revelation
Born of promised prophecy to bethink

Planned explanations of oracle mouth
Hand written perplexities, of profit hand
A need of wanton wisdom, desired
Breeds followers 'pon words of command

Held in thrall of questionable reason
Realities poison'd of gullible mind
Resound judgment of testimonials true
Of fated destiny, left, written behind

Conceive to believe, I unphased, without word
Stand in silent symmetry of demise
I am not that of such easy capture
Bold in barring, with optimistic eyes
