Parasites Poem by Alfonsina Storni

Parasites

Rating: 3.8

I never thought that God had any form.
Absoute the life; and absolute the norm.
Never eyes: God sees with the stars.
Never hands: God touches with the seas.
Never tongue: God speaks with sparkles.
I will tell you, don't be startled;
I know that God has parasites: things and men.

That is a strong song of protest against the creator of a world that is in the state it is today- -personally I blame mankind. What power this woman dealt via her pen. I crave more of her poetry to read and contemplate.

The poem depicts the level of the poetess's hatred for men whom she has labelled as parasites. No doubt it may have been due to her victimization by deceits.
