Party Hearty Baby
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
If you don't have all that very much to say
Take your friends out for some green beer
And all that ready made cheer
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
Make it that special day to celebrate and play
Let live and relive memories of yesteryear
As you're drinking pint after pint of Guinness beer
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
Time-out on this wonderful day for lots of play
With special friends you find so dear
Drinking more and more Guinness beer
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
Listening to Danny Boy and Frank's My Way
Dancing the night away to Wasn't That A Party
And singing the rollicking tunes of Great Big Sea
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
Finding them beautiful lassies with whom to sway
Ordering round after round of Jameson whiskey
Searching for those with whom you wanna be frisky
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
Thinking about St. Patrick and what he might say:
Life is full of struggles and come what may
All work and no play will not make your day
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
When The Saints Go Marching In what will they have to say:
New Orleans' Mardi Gras is always so much fun
And Brazil's Carnival...more hot fun in the sun
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
Here's what us poets and musicians have to say:
We're here for a fun time in this very short life span
So kick off your boots and party hearty before you kick the can
Chorus:
Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy on St. Patrick's Day
Drinking laughing and dancing the night away
Guzzling Guinness and downing Jameson whisky
Chasing beautiful lassies and being frisky

Love the sentiment of this poem. I can remember nights like that when I was working in a pub in South Wales. We had couple of Irish families in the village and the weekends were always happy and full of song. 10+
Thank you so very much, Alison. That kind of feedback goes a long way to ensure that this song-to-be is gonna be a success! Greatly appreciated!
Being Irish of course i love this poem. Though it feels more like a song. A lively song that makes me want to leap up and dance a jig across the kitchen floor. Oh Lordy and i have not even had a drink.Good one Richard
That's the kind of feedback that's motivating me to turn it into a great song. And especially, coming from someone who is Irish! Thank you so very much, Norah.
I love the great rhyming and you have captured the fun and excitement of St Patrick's Day with the beer flowing, dancing and romancing! Very well written Richard!
Thank you so much for your very positive feedback, Hazel. It was fun to write. And now, it's gonna be fun to record.
This is lovely, ceremoniously rich in tone. Your diction is embellished in beautiful rhyme and rhythm. Am a novice when it comes to music, but I know a good song when I see one. I sincerely which to listen to music version of the poem. A well drafted and elegantly composed piece. Thanks for sharing Richard and do remain blessed.
Chinedu, I am so very happy that you and my favourite poets on PH have responded so positively to this song-to-be. It means so very much to me because such feedback will go a long way to totally motivating me in the recording studio. Thank you so very much for all of your support and encouragement.
