I live next door,
Next to
The compound wall
Separating us.
I smell
the soup you cook
Every dinner.
I see
The bones you throw
Every lunch.
I hear
The music of utensils
Every day..
Yet my kids
feed on stale rice,
And stomach full of
Free water,
For I never lied
I never stole,
I never picked any stuff
That was not mine,
And I loved to remain as I am
I remained poor,
For I was a lover-
A lover of nature and
A true neighbour.
For I never lied I never stole, I never picked any stuff That was not mine, And I loved to remain as I am I remained poor, For I was a lover- A lover of nature and A true neighbour. Beautiful, sensitive. Great poem
