Persistent Tolerating Of Childishness Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Persistent Tolerating Of Childishness

It is more lamenting,
To witness.
A persistent tolerating,
Of a childisness.
Limited to represent,
Tantrums thrown.
Condoned as if...
This nonsense is an entitlement.

What has become of aging,
From a child to an adult.
Done to discover,
Each stage of life...
Should provide a blooming mind,
With noticeable and significant results.

What keeps a mind left behind,
Stunted.
With an inability to grow.
Up from cradles to cribs.
And learning to acknowledge,
The playing of games...
Change from a claiming to blame,
On others.
Of being prevented,
To win a game played.
By cheating and lieing,
Just to have their way.

And...
Become skilled and convincing of it.
To grow into an adult,
Capable to fraud, corrupt and deceive.
Like a child using these tactics,
Knowing who to manipulate.
With a choosing those,
Who incredibly believe and defend...
The quality,
Of their misdeeds.

Destructive and allowed to conduct,
Such activities.
This childishness,
Is endorsed and given support.
Done to accept,
As just a juvenile rejection...
Of authority, rules and laws.
With a doing to have others,
Disobey established...
And documented policies.

To then create division.
Between the races.
Their religious beliefs.
And political affiliations.
With a persistent tolerating,
Of a childishness.
As if the people are addicted.
Fearing the end of being entertained,
By a mind skilled and able to seduce...
Millions duped, tricked and left,
Awed and accepting,
A menace of society.

Yet...
Loving the performance.
And hypnotized not to realize,
This adult with a mind...
Feeding on ego and narcissism.
Is a child who sits in s position,
Wanting nothing more but to destroy...
Everything given.
With a desire to set fire.
To then blame and claim the doing,
On someone else just for fun...
Of having them suspected of doing,
What everyone knows that child has done!

"Why are we so stupid? "

-Status to have it,
Has its influence.
And wealth to have or not,
Is association enough...
To leave many believing,
We have power as well.-

"But...
What about the interests,
Of our constituents.
The people we are here to represent? "

-What about them? -
