Please come back, Grandpa Joe,
Without you it's like I don't know.
The whole family wants you,
No one could replace you.
You built a cool airplane,
Now it will never be the same!
I'll never get another ride,
Never get to walk by your side.
You used to make French Toast,
Proud you were, but would never boast.
I wish you were right here,
Whispering, 'I Love You' in my ear.
Saying that you will hold me tight,
And squeeze me with all your might.
Saying that you will never leave,
But we both know, one day, I will have to grieve.
Texas is a hot hot place,
And everyone wishes to see your face.
You're going down to be with Uncle Bob
Everyone wishes to see your face.
You used to read us stories,
From a book, big and red.
You'd tell us' 'good night, ' and put us to bed,
We love you with all our might.
Please come back,
It would put everything right.
We love you with all of our might,
And so does Grandma Susan, whom you married.
But now you are moving soon,
You're leaving her and the rest of us behind.
Some think you have lost your mind,
But I know that you're only losing time.
Please convince Uncle Bob to move up here,
Because losing you is what I fear.
You could go to grandma and say, 'I'm sorry, '
With your eyes glimmering, looking a little starry.
She'll forgive you,
I'm sure she'll find it in her heart.
To see you mean it,
And want a fresh start.
So Grandpa Joe listen to what I have to say,
Come, stay with me every single day.
I miss you already,
And you haven't even gone.
Where are going,
Will you be there long?
I can't think of how life will be without you there,
Sleeping at night, putting make up on, brushing my hair.
Living life with you on the brain,
Crying because now nothing will be the same.
Please don't leave,
I will be as good as I can possibly be!
I will do anything you ever ask,
No matter what job or task.
I will love you and kiss you 'til you tell me to quit,
On your lap will be my reserved place to sit.
Please tell me you love me before you go,
I will love you 'til the end of time, this I know.
