Please The God [muni] And Chase The Devil Poem by Samanyan Lakshminarayanan

Please The God [muni] And Chase The Devil

[A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE]

Though not seen by me
about him they have told me
this different god
the big robust god
puffed rice his favourite
the middle between you and GOD
the protector 'MUNI' they would call

As i was driving into my factory
i could see some 20 girls waiting
to meet me
they stay in the campus and work for me
''sir, yesterday night the movement of both were heavy'
'who both...what movement' i asked
'the devil and the god'

'Don't be silly..there is no devil or demon'
'why should we lie sir..all of us
what do we do if you don't believe us'
a little educated girl among them i called to know
'sir, i usually don't believe in muni itself leave alone devil
but the way that girl laughed yesterday scared me..you know sir
that girl would'nt even talk loudly'...yes i knew that

Next i called the 'haunted' or obsessed girl
strange was her behavior..not the usual calm girl
i asked my staff to send her home
i called others...told them...'you girls don't eat well.
i think it is a general weakness i will ask them to give a multivitamin daily'
'sir still you don't believe us..the muni is running betwen the machine
pushing us about..do something or send us home'

'What do you want me to do? you itself say'
'PLEASE THE GOD [MUNI]..sir and CHASE THE DEVIL' they say
pleasing the god would need a slaughter..a goat would be the prey
chasing the devil would need a specialist brought into fray
every village has one..mine had one too
i took him around the factory..there was an old abandoned building
a tree grown within....he shivered.....goose pimples..the devils abode

He showed me two trees in front...that's where it would play when muni is not around
i could'nt see a thing...thank god...i never had a problem before not with the devil
'the devil likes virgin girls...before you had men working here'
he cut the two lime into four put sindhoor threw it four corners
he nailed down four small wood pieces on all four corners..let no one here midnoon or after six
he is not paid for this...his family does this as a service..a teacher he is
IT WON'T TROUBLE YOU ANYMORE...he said and left

Today i wonder sitting in this god forsaken..devil too
factory closed...no machine..no man just barren
i wonder now who is there in this barren
to please the god or chase the devil
