Plucked Easy Prey To Pick Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Plucked Easy Prey To Pick

Too long in this battle,
Have I stayed loyal and dedicated.
With a doing to have my belief,
Regarded as a foolish waste of time.
As others sought my integrity to undo.
Demean and undermine with intent to dismiss.
But...
This battle started to fight it.
Is a war long to have begun.
Before 'who' or 'whomever'decided,
I would be easy prey to pluck and pick.
While they practiced their deceptions,
On others accepting.
Yet denying to being deceived and victimized.
While done in their faces with eyes opened wide.
