Prayer-Polar Bear Poem by Loke Kok yee

Prayer-Polar Bear

Rating: 5.0

Qailertetang- - - - - - - - - - most benevolent of all
You make the storm rage- and tell the snow to fall

Just to let you know- - that climate change is here
And the harm it causes- - - - - - - - is rather severe

Days are getting warm- - - - -and ice begin to melt
Shorelines recede- - - - - and the effects badly felt

The seals have long gone- but I do not know where
And even if I do- - - - - - - - - - - how do I get there?

Please invoke your powers- - and do the right thing
Being our only hope- - - - - - - - to you we will cling
If you delay too long- - - - - - - - - we will be extinct

I am hoping we are not the last generation to see polar bears in their natural enviroment. Kinda wonder where the world is heading with unpredictable global warming exacerbated from deforestation, burning fossil fuels and pollution.

A sensible and timely request that needs urgent hearing! Global warming is indeed a great threat to many animals. Melting glaciers is another great threat! LOVELY poems indeed !
