O beloved goddess- - - - - - that brought us summer
Your bountiful spread- - - - - we'll always remember
We implore thee- - - - - - - - -to forever with us stay
Brightly shining- - - - - - - to keep cold winter at bay
Make all the trees fruit- -unending through the year
Unless of course- - - - - - - - -you have a better idea
No more hibernation- - - - - -and no more hoarding
Lots of time for eating- - - - - - - - - and procreating
Divine goddess Aine- - - - - - - - - keep away the fall
And bleak winter- - - - - -will then never have to call
Just spring and summer- - - -and we'll all have a ball
I think I saw this squirrel yesterday while we were out driving around. Apparently Aine did NOT like something he said. The squirrel was buzzard bait. : ( Not a bad poem...... for a 'foreigner'! To MyPoemList. Bri :)
squirrels are such sprightly creatures. they give us joy........ as your poem does! a sweet prayer!
Divine goddess Aine- - - - - - - - - keep away the fall And bleak winter- - - - - -will then never have to call Just spring and summer- - - -and we'll all have a ball A wonderful prayer nicely penned.
