Prevailing Strength Poem by Obed dela Cruz

Prevailing Strength

Mortal strength may sometimes fade like shadows in the night.
Courage may tend to melt as butter placed beside heat.
But You made me like a mountain standing straight and tight;
How strong winds of pain may be, I cannot bend to it.

Chariots of my possession may flee before my face
As my enemies would unite to go against me.
However, I will remain in love with Your embrace
Secured that evil shall never have the victory.

Reefs of corals exist under every crashing wave.
No matter what the behavior of an ocean is,
There is a song behind that helps me to remain brave
To face the wrath of anything that disturbs my peace.

New and greater strength shall always prevail in my life
Lasting sweetness endures after every bitter strife.
