Queen Innocence Poem by james watkin

Queen Innocence

1/

To whom was given
My dependency
In childhood's state
Shone her bright-eyed rule
On my tendency.

Her edict, through a
Dash, even as strays
Speaking to my traits.
This was Innocence.
Throned over my days.

2/

As her sweet charge, endeared at large
Gave Nature to cheer him through.
The sun in hugs, the wind in tugs;
And bird in hullabaloo.

As her sweet chit, tough to forfeit
Much left there for absolving!
Sun's warming past; past wind's hustle;
And bird's waggish revolving.
